Microsoft IPv6 Developer Edition driver

Where I live I have no high speed internet available to me at the present
time. I only have 1 ISP with a local dial up number and only 1 dial up
number available to me. Having said that then you know I am always working
with a slow computer but for the past few days it has been slower than usual.
After doing all the obvious like defrag, scan disk, deleting temp files,
running adaware, spybot, panda and everything coming back clean I am now
looking deeper to try to find an answer. I have come across this Microsoft
IPv6 Developer Edition driver in my add/remove programs that I 've never seen
before and I don't know what it is.

Its an update to the IPv4 , which is the Internet protocol currently in use.
I was told that there was concern about IP capacity so this was developed a
few years ago to handle that. I was also told they overestimated the problem
and this will not be needed nearly as soon as first thought. Our computer
guru at the office disabled it with no ill effects. I am not saying that is
the right thing for you to do but that is my experience. I would wait until
you get more replies though, I'd be interested myself to see if others agree
with our Tech's response. It always loads automatically when I install
windows.

And if you want to use IPv6 then type "ipv6 install" from a command prompt
:)

"Change only adds to my confusion."
