Where can I get information on setting up a home network
with Windows 2000 running on both machines
You might want to do just as I did : assuming your two machines have a
Network card, get a cross-over cable, connect them, disable your
firewall on both machines and set both of them using the limited help of
2K using automatic settings (IP, DNS) on both machines. Do not forgot to
allow sharing of drives as required and try it...It may not work at
first try but this is a place to start.
You can also use Internet resources (for example:
http://www.pcclub.com/main_signin.cfm)
but be aware that doing your own research before you post questions will
save you some embarrassement and time. I just experienced this here
myself no long ago! But most people are helpful and don't mind the others.
You can contact me privately for more specific info if you wish.
