Hi,im having trouble re-installing my accessories and utilites. In my windows
componets. it asks for my xp disk.i insert it and then it tells me that it
cant find freecell.exe I have searched the xp disk and came up with no
results.can you help me please.i havent got pinball or any other of the
standard games.and my calculator button on the keyboard dont work either?

Hi MAGGA,

It's possible that your Windows XP CD isn't complete,
or that the method you're using to reinstall the components
is missing one step. Please try the following and post back:

To add/remove Windows XP Games:

Click START > Control Panel
Add or Remove Programs
Add Remove Windows Components
Accessories and Utilities
[Details...]
Games
[Details...]
Select the games to install, here's how:
Place a check to install, or uncheck to uninstall
* If you're installing, and it's already checked, uncheck the
box and then check it again to trick Windows into reinstalling
Click [OK] 3 times.

Hi MAGGA,

At which step in the list quoted below do you get an error
message, and what exact does the error message state?

I'm having a similar problem to MAGGA. I did a systems tools disk cleanup
and compressed old files to free up some space. Now I cant find any of the
Microsoft Games, the Calculator and I cant launch Internet Express from an
Icon. With the games such as freecell and hearts etc, the shortcut is still
there but the system cant find the target. I tried following the advice
Jimmy S gave about the Windows Components in Add/Remove programs but I get an
error message telling me to insert an XP Disc with Service Pack 2 which I've
never owned. This PC is over 3 years old. What ya think, Jimmy S?

Check for a folder on the hard drive called i386... If you never had a
Windows disc it should be in there.
