I have never used and don't have Microsoft Frontpage and
yet on my Windows 2000 Professional setup I find a folder
named C:\Microsoft Frontpage. It only contains empty
subfolders. I get a sharing violation error if I try to
delete it (although I find no trace in task manager of an
obvious program using it). I have a dual boot from which
I can delete it, except that on rebooting it has been
recreated.

The problem is that I also use Autosync to synchronise
Outlook between Laptop and Pocket PC - it complains that
there is another folder besides C:\Microsoft Outlook with
Microsoft in its name and that I must change it!

Its pointless commenting on the general ineptitude of the
manufacturers ...

Any ideas as to what I can do?

Cheers and thanks, Phil Ratcliffe

This is a default folder installed during the
install of an Office application.
It is harmless and should be left alone.

The folder is also installed by Windows ME, 2000 and XP, not sure about 98

Hi Thomas,
With 98SE it only appears after installation
of an "Office" application.
