cheers the last post was very helpfull found out a few problems caused by
norton anti virus and quicktime, but when i was looking through the sheet of
problems it came up windows explorer(20) has stopped working and everything
to do with explorer. why would this be happening. can you help me fix this
problem please.

Hi blue06,

As background, Vista, by default, restricts functions that may help solve
this problem. As a first step, turn User Account Control off.

User Account Control (UAC) can be found in Control Panel, User Accounts.
UAC can help prevent unauthorized changes to your computer. It works by
prompting you for permission when a task requires administrative rights.
This UAC control could be preventing your system from working properly
because it's restricting something. Just a theory, so far.

If you do turn it off to fix a problem, you should turn it back on as soon
as the problem is fixed.

Click Turn User Account Control off (if it's already off, turn it on). If
you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the
password you are using.

Select your Use User Account Control and clear the check box to turn off
UAC, and then click OK.

There are other remedies for the condition you have, but try the above steps
first. If it doesn't work, post back.
