Microsoft exchange not available

I am trying to use a newly installed trial version of outlook 2007. My ISP is
Att. I continue to get the message "microsoft exchange is unavailable". How
do I correct this?

Remove Microsoft Exchange from your profile, unless you're actually trying
to connect to an Exchange server.
Tools - Account Settings and remove Microsoft Exchange.
 
By modifying the Outlook Profile to remove the exchange account and adding
the correct type of account - pop mail?
