Microsoft Works can open any Microsoft Excel 97, Microsoft Excel 2000, Microsoft Excel 2002 (XP), or Microsoft
Excel 2003 file.
How to open a Microsoft Excel file in Microsoft Works:
Start Microsoft Works Spreadsheet.
On the "File" menu, click "Open...".
In the Files of type box, select "Excel SS (*.xl*)"
Find and single click on the Microsoft Excel file, then click "Open".
Alternatively, you can double-click the Microsoft Excel file to open it.
NOTE: Works Spreadsheet opens only one Excel worksheet at a time. If an Excel workbook contains more than one
worksheet, Works Spreadsheet opens each worksheet as a separate file.
If you just need to view a Microsoft Excel file, I'd recommend that you download the Microsoft Excel Viewer.
NOTE: The Microsoft Excel Viewer 2003 will NOT install under Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition
(SE), Windows Millennium Edition (Windows Me), or Windows NT 4.0. If you are running any version of Microsoft
Windows that I have mentioned above, the you will need download and install the Microsoft Excel Viewer 97
instead or use OpenOffice.org.
