I keep getting the microsoft pop up dialog window when i
try to get onto my real estate website. It gives me
options to debug, send report or don't send. When i send
report and try to use windows update, it says i need
service pkg 2 but i cannot download it because when
windows update scans my computer it says there are no
updates available of needed. i probe more and it seems
that sp2 is for windows xp which i do not have. i do not
have any virus protection software applications on my
computer. can microsoft updates solve this or do i have
to buy virus protection softwar.

Hola Enrique,

When you visit some web pages, there's probably always an error message pops
up and say:

====================
A Runtime Error has occurred.
Do you wish to debug?

Line: 589
Error: Syntax error
====================

If so as I told someone else previously in this newsgroup that all that
error really means, is that the website you're visiting has some errors in
the JavaScript (.js) they're wanting your browser to execute when you visit
the page.

RESOLUTION:
1. Open Internet Explorer (IE) browser.
2. Select the Tools drop-down menu.
3. Select Internet Options.
4. Click on the Advanced tab.
5. Under the Browsing section, put a check mark in the box next to "Disable
script debugging".

This specifies whether you want to turn off your script debugger, if one is
installed. Script debuggers are used by Web site developers to test
programs and scripts on their Web pages.

6. Then click OK to close Internet Options.
7. Browser and test the same web page that was giving you this error.

Another alternative could be, that you have a lot of Spyware installed from
visiting different website and may need some third party utility like one of
the following to remove them:

Spybot (http://spybot.safer-networking.de/en/home/index.html)

SpyKiller (http://www.free-spyware-scan.com/?ref=3040)

NoAdware (http://www.noadware.net/?hop=spyware101)

Or one of the other ones listed on the following link below:
