I cant stand the fact you need to re-activate xp if you change parts in your PC.

So once that is done you need to activate more MS crap to download an anti adware toolbar for IE6 that is full of bugs. If Microsoft got their act together they should have created a product that doesnt allow all these faults.

lets hope firefox can grow and we will have a choice.

Yes, the re-activation can be a real pain! I had this problem last year when upgrading my old PC!

Its not all Microsoft's fault though, as people are constantly finding new ways to stop spyware so I don't think there is any method for absolute prevention, only a cure for the moment. If Microsoft managed to create an operating system that was totally spyware resistant, there would be severe problems with running many legitimate components.

I am glad they release patches to solve the major contributors (such as the ActiveX popups), but I'd like to see some way to stop people profiting from spyware/adware.

You have a lot to learn ... and you may just learn a thing or two. Over time.

As a company Microsoft, as do any other company, are trying to protect their own interest. Name me one "company" in the computing industry not trying to protect their product. Name me one leading-brand software that has NOT been pirated. Name me one program, not a freebie; you have bought in the past that has been bug free.

While I do agree it is a 'pain' to have to 're-activate' or 'verify' your OS on several occasions if circumstances arise, I see no bother in doing so.

If you are unhappy, try an alternative operating system ... I'm sure you'll find one that works.
