Sure Thing

Hi,
Myself and a friend are new to computers. We both have a
copy of the above game and thought we would try to play
over the internet. We hoped we could do this by just
sharing ip numbers. We went through the procedures on the
screen, phoned with a separate mobile to pass on the ip
address and then waited for a couple of mins, but no
connection was made. Did we not wait long enough? How
long should it take? Or have we missed the point totally
and we need to join a site like zone.com who will act as
a link between us? Please advise what we should do?

Hi Sure Thing,

The way that works is as follows:

1. The person without a home network should host
2. Get your public IP address from: http://www.whatismyip.com
3. Start the game, and select to host an Internet Multiplayer game
4. Your friend starts their game and chooses to join Internet Multiplayer game
5. When prompted your friend should enter the exact IP# from step 2.
6. If unsuccessful, be certain neither of you are blocked by firewalls.

Hope this helps make that Close Combat a "Sure Thing"! :-)
