Two ways to do this. First make a folder for CDs on your HD, then make a subfolder same name as dictionary CD volume. Copy entire CD to this folder, then install from there using Start>Run.
Some programs, such as Microsoft Encarta 2000 have copy protection, and will not run from a direct copy.
If the program still insists on inserting the CD, here's the second way.
Uninstall program and delete the CD copy.
Download program called Virtual CD from any good download site. Use it to create virtual CD drives, then follow instructions for creating CD images and installing programs from virtual CDs.
I have six programs installed, including Encyclopedia Britannica DVD (6.4GB), that I can run without inserting CD. Virtual CD is about $40.00 and is worth it if it means the difference between using, and not using your programs.

Old Microsoft "Bookshelf" dictionary 1996 - 97 edition.
Each time I want to use dictionary, I must insert disk
into drive "C".
Is there a permanent installation of "Bookshelf"
disk to my hard drive?
