Peter

i had the 1st version which worked fine. after
downloading the beta upgrade, it installs the same
icon, but only opens the install wizard function page and
runs thru the installation, over and over, never providing
the acual antispyware site. i used to run the scan every
day at a set time, now it still tries to run but only
opens the installation wizard- if i go thru the process
it installs- quite quickly as it is already on my
machine, but doesn't provide the functionality to actually
run the spyware scan anymore.- what should i do? it is
pitiful when Microsoft anti spyware latest release upgrade
causes the program to not work anymore. rather than
protecting my computer it just goes through endless
iterations of re installing the upgrade. i have rebooted
following installation, still the same result please
respond to (e-mail address removed) thanks - i am sure i
cannot be the only one with this problem, as i followed
the instructions for dowloading as provided on your

Relax, Peter. Even though this is a refresh of the beta, it is still a
beta, and you have hit a typical problem (at least, typical of this
particular beta.)

I'd suggest:

1) uninstall Microsoft Antispyware, via add or remove programs.

2) delete c:\program files\microsoft antispyware

3) reinstall Microsoft Antispyware.

I believe this will take care of your problem. When you reinstall, make
sure that other antispyware programs providing active protection are not
running, and that you are logged in as the administrator user who will
normally use the program.

thanks to Bill and Monitor the uninstall and
reinstall worked fine. the program works as it used to -
no loops thank you.
Peter

Great. There are minor issues that are new with the .615 build, but nothing
which should prevent the use of the program--as it was, in your case.
