Microsoft Antispyware gaint

I have Microsoft gaint and Windows Defender running on the same computer.
When I go to start programs click on the icon for gaint uninstall a error
comes up saying this action is only valid for products that are currenty
installed. Went into control panel Microsoft gaint it is not there, but it
still scan my computer every day long with Windows defender. What do I need
to do about getting Microsoft gaint off the computer and still have windows
defender?
 
Go to www.filehippo.com, search on Windows Defender, and you should find,
under previous versions, a download for Microsoft Antispyware. See whether
you are able to install that. If you are successful, I would then uninstall
it. That should take care of the problem.

I too had the same problem ... and have been trying to remove the older
Giant version for some time now. I followed your suggestion and found the
older version on file hippo and re-installed it. I was then able to
uninstall using the add remove programs in control panel... thanks for the
great info.

Terrific--glad it worked. I had some fear that the app would refuse to
install, so I'm glad to hear that was not justified.
