I have a huge problem with the beta version of Microsoft
AntiSpyware, a $110 problem. I downloaded it, and then
it scanned my system. After running the fix it option
the next thing I know I lose my internet connection
(DSL), Norton Antivirus, and my MS Calendar program. I
tried reinstalling Windows, removing the program, running
in safe mode, nothing I tried worked. I don't know if
any of you have had similiar problems but I wanted to
post this to warn you because my system ran perfect until
I installed and ran that program. Any comments or
suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

This is really getting funny.......even better than the SP2 beta group was.

IE6 beta group contained more angst; SP2 beta _was_ quieter.
Most everyone expected trouble and was reconciled to
dealing with it. Here: blame the spyware? Oh no! Not.

The entertainment on beta groups is...............priceless. :)

Michael,

Sorry to hear that it had such a harmful effect on your system, BUT,
NEVER run BETA software if you can not afford the situation you find
yourself in now. MS has made it plain that this is BETA software.
When you open MSAS it plainly states : Microsoft AntiSpyware BETA1
Once again, sorry to hear about your situation.

Start | All Programs | Accessories | Command Prompt
in the DOS box that appears, type the following:

netsh winsock reset

press the enter key.
The malware had hijacked your internet connection;
removing it lost its version of that,
this command restores what it had usurped in XP.

They should work the restoration into the program
in order to avoid being unjustly accused.

Hit the enter key,
