Hello i have disabled in settings, the piont "Enable
Microsoft Security Agents on start Up".

But after each reboot The Microsoft Antispyware is
loading.

Does Somebody have a solution.

Greetings Andreas

'Security Agents' is a part of MWAS, not MWAS itself, Andreas. See Help >
Settings: Real-time Protection (Security Agents)

To stop MWAS from loading when you boot:

Options > Settings > Real-time Protection > Startup options > Enable...
(uncheck)

Use the workaround paragraph from this KB article:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/892375 End users may be prompted to allow or
block administrative actions that originate from a central management tool
after they install Windows AntiSpyware (Beta) on a computer that is managed
by Systems Management Server 2003

I have the same problem with a twist. I tried MS anti-
spyware but didn't like all the resources it used so
unintalled it. Now every time I start my computer, the
SpyBot tea timer I went back to warns me that something
is trying to make a registry key and add a Global startup
entry in for gcaserv.

I believe our problems are related. I hate to say it but
it acts like a piece of spyware. It won't go away and
keeps rebuilding itself!

Thanks Robert for your answering:-)
Sorry, my Enlish isn's so good, i'm german.

Now, i have made what you are writeing, but Microsoft
AntySpyware is allways starting on Start-Up my Computer:-(
I think there has Microsoft make a mistake, or it can
make some problems, because i've had the Version from
January installed before.
I'll test it on a new windows installation.

But until now, i can only kill it from startup, by
killing from the registry myself:-(

Nice Greetings, Andreas

If I check or uncheck this Button on my MWAS, has no
effect on my Computer.

MWAS is allways coming on Start-Up and Real Time Security
Agents are enabled!

Yeah---something hasn't completed. Gcaserv is a piece of Microsoft
Antispyware. I'd recommend letting tea timer allow it in--then
uninstalling, or following the workaround in the KB article, which should
keep it from loading, I believe--or at least functioning at all.

The real-time protection is a major part of Microsoft Antispyware--I don't
know a lot of detail about tea timer, but I'm confident that the areas
covered by the agents and checkpoints in Microsoft Antispyware are more
comprehensive. However--if you are seeing a resource issue on your machine,
I can see why you might want to remove this functionality. I have this
running on a great variety of machines--from 400 MHZ PII's through 2 gig
P4's and haven't seen a performance issue--but they are not uncommon in
these groups.
