microsoft anti-spyware

GREETINGS from Jean, a lost soul without her LINKS and top half of
FAVorites;;;;1st of all, i have windows 2000, IE 6; when i was looking at
the Microsft ANTISPYWARE results, i went to ADVANCED TOOLS< then hit SYSTEM
EXPLORE (ithink) then APPLICATIONS or STARTUP PROGRAMS or one of those in the
list under system explore...ANYWAY, i got to a registry-looking place and by
mistake deleted something that i thought was a virus...i know...i know..i
shouldnot have been messing around there...it was 2am and i was
curious..anyway,,,whatever i deleted was my LINKS file and the part of the
TOP ALPHABET of my FAVORITES.(A-K)--these are my very valuable files --i am
jobhunting and i put all the sites i was using on the TOP HALF of my
favorites in internet explorer..and my LINKS thingy, well, i had all my fun
research, history stuff for my kids, etc. GONE GONE GONE...where is it????i
couldnt find in RECyle...when i push START, and then SEARCH thing it says the
LINKS folder is EMPTY>>>>any ideas ? is it in the BLACK HOLE???????????

If you deleted a file then you might be able to recover it with a file
recovery program such as the one in the link below. You also should
periodically backup your favorites to a file on your computer and a floppy
disk if it is that important to you. Below is a link to one such free
