Microsoft Anti-Spyware Version 5680

EVERY time I boot up my computer, I'm told that Microsft
Anti-Spyware Version 5680 has just been installed on my
computer. This has been going on for at least 6 weeks, so
that means it's been re-installed more than 50 times! (I
sometimes boot twice in a single day.) All right! Enough
already! I know, it's easy to delete, but it's annoying.
How do I keep this from happening?

shut down MSAS
delete the 2 largest gcd where MSAS is installed
restart MSAS
check for updates
