Microsft anti-spy freezes when it scan my registry. It
scan fine until it gets to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\STC\CLIENT. Does anyone know
why and how do I fix this?

Hi

Maybe you can solve this in Safe mode, press F8 during
reboot/restart.

Choose deepscan and try again.

You may find that this registry key has unusual permissions set on it, and
that you need to take ownership of it, and fix the permissions so that it
can be removed by Microsoft Antispyware, if detected as spyware.

If your machine is XP Home, it may well be worth restarting in safe mode,
and logging in as "administrator" and trying again. You'd need to be in
this mode to take ownership of the key anyway.

Interesting--so do a full scan in that condition (safe mode, administrator),
and then lets try safe mode, whatever user you were under when you got the
lockup before)

I'm afraid I've hit a knowledge limitation of my own here--maybe someone
else can help me out--is it possible, logged in as administrator, to load a
given user registry hive so that it can be scanned--and how would you do
that in XP Home?
