I have redundant area detail. The redundancy is eliminated in report
by using grouping; but when I attempt to sum in footer, all records
are summed. How can I calculate area in report by summing only values
visible in section header?

thx.

One option is to create an invisible text box that is bound to your field or
expression. Set its Running Sum property to Over All. Then create a text box
in the report footer with a control source of the new text box name:
=[txtRunningSumTextBoxFromGroupHeader]

thx. Duane....the solution you offered solves my problem.
