Microsoft Access Help Function Sample

With the help of Alex Dybenko and Stuart McCall I have created a help
function for Access that uses an internal table to store help information
rather than the traditional Access help file. The benefits are that you do
not have to prepare and maintain an Access help file or buy software to
create it. It can also be edited by users if you allow it.

Interesting. Simple and effective for simple applications of quick tooltip
style help it is a good idea.

That said, I still prefer to make an external html file which can
incorporate images, and more elaborate styles. Sadly, most user will not
read, so images are crucial.

As for 'buy software to create it', you don't need too you can find any
number of completely free help file generation tool online for free and they
work very well. See:

But all in all, it is a good approach and could easily be integrated in many
apps to provide fast popup instructions for each field. Thank you for the
work and demonstration. This type of contribution to the online community
