I am getting this message when going from Novell to
Windows 2000 server:
"Microsoft Access cannot open this file."
"This file is located outside your intranet or on an
untrusted site. Microsoft Access will not open the file
due to potential security problems."
"To open the file, copy it to your machine or an
accessible location."
My application is installed on Windows Server 2000 (with
SP4) and works well.
The client computers are running on Windows 98 or Me with
Office XP (with SP2) work well when connected directly to
the Windows server.
Full access rights have been given to the users from
Novell to the Windows Server.
Connections are through routers and not going over the web.
Users on Novell 3.12 get the abovementioned message.
The folders are addressed as the full pathname and NOT
mapped drives. eg. \\192.168.83.2\apps\SISEntry.mdb
MS Word works fine and opens the files across the networks
without any problems. Only Access has a problem with the
folder.
Can anyone help?
many thanks
george
