Hi,
I am trying to figure out how to allow multiple users & multiple pc's on my
network access to my Access 2002 database. I already created a workgroup file
and the usernames and passwords for the database. I placed it into a shared
folder on the Main server, but still cannot access it from other pc's on the
domain. The error I get is that the user does not have neccasry permissions.
Do I have to set up users for each workstation to have access? If so, how?
After reading through an Access manual, all it states is that the database
must be in a shared directory. Does anyone have any ideas?

Your users must join your custom workgroup. In order to do that your
workgroup file must be on the server with your database file. You would
typically join the workgroup on a session by session basis using a shortcut
with the "/wrkgrp" switch. Incidentally, it's also considered a good idea
by many experienced developers to split the application too. If you have a
shufty around this group you'll find a wealth of information and links that
will help you with all of this.
