I have a co-worker who changed the security properties of
a database and somehow had made it so that Access 2000
asks for a password no matter what. He has tried to
create a new database and it will ask for a password, when
he tries to modify the database he changed the securities
on (he made himself the administrator), he gets a
password. The problem is, that it won't accept his
password. Is there anyway to remove the password prompt
in Access 2000 if you don't know what the administrator
password is for the database?

Did he create a new workgroup, or make the changes in the existing one?

If the former, then your computer is joined by default to this new
workgroup. Since the 'Admin' user has a password assigned, you'll be
prompted for a username/password every time you open Access. Use the
workgroup administrator to rejoin the system.mdw (usually in the systems
folder). You can create a desktop shortcut for the secure database.
"path to msaccess.exe" "path to mdb" /wrkgrp "path to mdw"

If he didn't create a new workgroup, then he modified the system.mdw
workgroup that ships with Access. You will need to log in as 'Admin' and
change the password to blank. Alternatively, you can copy system.mdw from
another computer.
