I have an Vaio 550 computer, it has an 1.5 MZ intel Pentium 4 Processor. I
would like to upgrade it to a faster processor, is this possible?
How much faster could I go?
Thanks in advance,
Don

Some of the latest CPUs are running at 3.2GHz but are expensive. You'll have to check with the Sony/Vaio people if your Motherboard will support that speed, most likely not, so they can sell you a new one. You can also check Sony's website and if you have the specs on your motherboard, it will tell you what you can upgrade to. To save time, call Sony's tech support at their 800 number for assistance
P.S. Just an additional note, some of the people at MIT now have a CPU running at 8.0GHz but their main problem is overheating. They'll probably solve that soon.

Thanks, I'll try Sony
