I am using the Aopen cobra aw-840 and a Logitech headset. verytime i try to
use anything with voice everyone complains that they can barely hear me. the
same thing happens with micrsoft sound recorder. Any help?

If the mic has its own volume control, turn that up. Then click the Start
button, type:

aud

and click Audio Devices and Sound Themes on the Start menu. Click your
microphone’s icon and make sure it’s the default (has a green check box). If
it’s not the default right-click that icon and choose Set As Default for >
All Users.

Talk into the mic and see how much your voice registers. The closer to your
mouth the mic is, the better. If it’s still weak, right-click the mic’s icon
and choose Properties. Use the dialog box that opens to increase the
sensitivity of the mic and click OK.

I've done all of this as well and my mic is still very quiet. I have to use
a very raised voice to get it to register.

Where is the 20db bass adjust that XP had? That was how I made this mic
work before.

i tried 4 different microphones and none of them registered any sound at all
at maximum sensitivity levels.

what can i do to fix this?

I am not under Vista noq.
But the problem seems to be that only the LINE IN option is
available for the microphone, which will not work when
connected to that input.

My electret microphone has to be connected to the
microphone connector, with boost enabled.

Someone at Microsoft or Nvidia/AC97 will have to fix
the drivers.
