Microphone setup

I plugged in a new microphone headset for gaming. The
sound plays through correctly but the mic doesn't pick up
any sound. Is there a driver I may need. Running Win2000

I recently plugged in a new microphone headset and i

clicked onto the sound icon in the start menu and clicked
on microphone advanced and activated microphone,hope it
helps. good luck.
