Microphone on A7N8X

Computer Wiz

Can't get my mic to record. I've enabled it without success. I even
installed the latest audio drivers from Asus' website. Any ideas. I'm
using a good mic. What else can I try? Thanks.
 
Details please.
What sliders do you use for mic level?
Is it just for doing normal recording?
Is is for communication?
 
On my A7N8X deluxe, the mic input socket is tight, and the plug doesn't
connect properly unless I push it in quite firmly. You might give that a
try.
