Microphone Not working

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I am running xp
pro and I can't get my computer to record off my mic. I
had it working for a while but then it stopped. I am a
new user so the more info the better.

Check your recording settings by doing this:
- open Control Panel
- switch to Classic View, and double-click "Sounds and Audio Devices"
- click the Audio tab

Check what device you have selected in the "Sound recording" section. Also
click the Volume button there to make sure the Mic input is not muted.
