Microphone has stopped working

Check the usual things...

Is the mic plugged in firmly to the correct jack?

Is the mic channel muted in soundcard settings?

Is the volume control of the mic channel turned up?

_Some_ sound cards provide a "record" configuration screen where the mic
channel can be enabled. Double-click the 'speaker' icon (right-bottom of
screen), click OPTIONS|PROPERTIES|RECORDING and enable it. Or look for a
similar choice in the options for your sound controllers.
 
Well I had the same problem and scanned about 40 or 50 of these messages and found that no one ever solved there problem and got back to the group. Either they solved the problem and didn't have the courtesy to let others know how they did it or they are still fumbling around with the same unsolved mystery. Well I'm here to tell you that I solved my problem by downloading the latest version of DirectX 9.0b. The mike is working great now! Hope this helps all you other people
