At work we have a very secure environment. We use IE 6 on Windows NT and they
will not allow us to install any add-ons to Internet Explorer. We constantly
get the
install screen for Macromedia Flash. We have to Cancel ever time, it is more
of a nuisance than any thing else. IS there any way to not have this screen
to pop up to install Flash add-on? Thanks in advance

To me, it sounds like the security setting for ActiveX and other add-ons to
internet explorer is set on "prompt" instead of "disable".

Try checking out Tools > Internet Options > Security tab > Custom Level...

Looking in the "ActiveX controls and plug-ins" category:

1. Make sure "Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls" is set to
disable.
2. Make sure "Download signed ActiveX controls" is set to disable.
3. Make sure "Download unsigned ActiveX controls" is set to disable.

Restart IE and test it... I tried it on Windows XP, but it should work for
NT, since it is still the same version of IE. It should ignore any add-on
installation need instead of asking you and/or downloading it.

Note: If you are running Windows XP with sp2, the information bar, might pop
up telling you the feature is disabled.

Hope it works out!

You can disable Flash via the registry:

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000}\MiscStatus\1]
@="1024"
