microfon dont work

on my notebook from hp omni xe3 the microfon wont be work......i get message dpvsetup.exe cant be ini, pls install from software. but dpvsetip.exe is still a peace of directx..........

errormessage is = 0x80004005

Well I had the same problem and scanned about 40 or 50 of these messages and found that no one ever solved there problem and got back to the group. Either they solved the problem and didn't have the courtesy to let other know how they did it or they are still fumbling around with the same unsolved mystery. Well I'm here to tell you that I solved my problem by downloading the latest version of DirectX 9.0b. The mike is working great now! Hope this helps all you other people

Your mic might be working NOW but it is giving-off an echo echo echo echo
