Micorsopt internet Explorer

Hi
Every time I open Mic. Internet Explorer it opens fine but down in the left
corner there is a traragle that has a ! in it and when I double click on it
it says
Line; 1
Char: 1
Error; Permission Denied
Code: 0
url; http;//www.msn.com/
I can still do most any thing except that I know that it shouldn't be there
and when I go to send something of download something from that page not all
the time does it work.
can anyone help I have tryed to find help from Microsoft but I just don't
understand maybe I need to go back to school

The message is saying that there is an error in the code on the page that
you're accessing. That error is on the other end - the page on the
webserver - and not on your end.

The problem with downloading is probably not related. I would venture to
guess that if there is one error right at the beginning of the page (line
1, char1) there are more following that one. One of the remaining errors
may include non-working download links.

You can try clearing your browser cache or refreshing the page - on the off
chance you got a bad download of the page. But if you continue to have
problems, contact the site's webmaster or search out their help/assistance
areas.
 
I think I have cleared I went to desk top and cleared all them I'm not sure
how to clear my serches. I hope I'm on the right track. is this right?? so
far it is still showing the error but I can refresh and it resets I forgot to
tell you this.

You're clearing history items not cache. To clear cache, use Internet
Options> General> Temporary Internet Files and hit the Delete Files key.
Answer yes to the question about offline content. You'll see the mouse
pointer turn into an hourglass (or pointer+hourglass) while this process
completes. If any browser windows were open during the process, close all
of them. Then relaunch IE and try the site again.

I don't have Sun's java installed on this desktop but understand that using
its icon in Control Panel, opens its contol panel applet. Somewhere in
there is another cache that should be cleared out now and then. If you have
this installed, you may want to check that out and clean it up too.

I re-read my previous answer to you. It was a little ambiguous regarding
downloads. If you can obtain downloads from most sites without a problem,
then your browser settings and cache are okay. The download problems from
the site with errors are probably related not to the error you mentioned
here but to other errors that are within the site. In other words, the
failure is, again, not on your end but at the site itself.

I still have that problem with the error button. I refresh then its ok but

If using Internet Explorer, you might want to try the browser setting that
clears cache on closing of IE. Open Internet Options, click the Advanced
tab. Scroll down towards the bottom in the Security section and check the
box to clear Temporary Internet Files (TIF) when closing the browser. This
will keep any possible corruption in the TIF from causing you troubles on
your end.

The sites that correct when you refresh may be on a slow (or flakey or
overly busy) server and that's why you're having trouble with them. For
sites that do not correct with a refresh, the error is usually not on your
end. You can mess all day with settings but the most effective approach is
just to try the site again at a later time.
