I have windows xp on my computerand with all the updates
I feel I may have missed something. Everytime I go into
microsoft word and email a document outlook expresss does
not come up. It tells me there is a map 1 failure. What
does that mean and how can I get outlook express to come
back up.

microsoft.public.word.mail - and it isn't 'map 1' it's 'MAPI' - Messaging
Application Program Interface. IIRC, you cannot use OE as a MAPI client from
within Word - you must use Outlook (though I could be wrong - post in the
correct group and you'll receive a more detailed and accurate response).
