Hi and thanks for the help you can offer. I have a laptop that runs the
office XP program with no problems. I am trying to run office XP Dictation
from my desktop pc and all seems ok except that when I try to configure the
microphone or train the voice program it wont take any input from the mic.
I have SoundBlaster Live Value. Current drivers are installed. The pc is a
soyo P4x400 Lite, Pent 4 2.4. I have tried all possible configurations of
the sound and speech properties. I can use the ms recorder and record a
sound file and then play it back. Recently I installed Total Recorder which
is a program that lets you record whatever your pc is playing. Its a great
program. As I said I have switched all properties back to the SoundBlaster
and when I start any dictation or configuration the mic goes dead. What I
mean is that sometimes there is feedback thru the speakers from the mic but
when ms doc with dictation is started the feedback stops. I will keep
trying and with your help maybe we can get this working.
