Hi

I am having problems with my earphone/mic. I can hear sound through the
earpiece, but it will not pick up sound through the mouthpiece (microphone).

I have tested the mic on other computers and it works OK.

I have checked the volume/balance/mute on the sound mixer, all of which are
OK, but no sound gets through.

I have tried the jack in all three outlets, with no luck in any.

Any solutions?

Hello,

It is possible that what you say may not echo back in the speaker.

Try using Sound Recorder in Start > Programs > Accessories > Entertainment,
perform a recording and speak into the mic.

Make sure it is connected to the correct port.

If sound is still not coming through, open volume controller, Options,
Properties, ensure the correct sound card is selected, check 'Recording',
check all boxes, click OK.

Place a checkmark in the Mic column and try again.

Also ensure that the correct sound card is chosen for recording in Control
Panel > Sound and Audio Devices > Audio (tab) under Sound Recording.
