Mic fader greyed out

On my volume control recording dislay the mic input, CD and Line volume
faders are greyed out.
I have a Realtek High Definition Audio built into the mobo.
I have downloaded and installed the latest drivers from ASUS, but still they
are not accessible.
Can someone please help?

If the image to adjust,turn on/off,etc is all faded out,then those options
probably dont exist with youre hardware,if chk boxes only are,then those
would
be available & are,but youre configuration somewhere isnt right.
