I have a small MGE UPS: the Pulsar Ellipse

It has a serial connection for the PC, so you can see what the thing
is doing. It's a 4-pin telephone clip thingy.

However, I do not have the appropriate cable.
I bought it second hand...

anyone out there can tell me the pin definition of this connection and
how to make a working cable ?

The "4-pin telephone clip thing" is an RJ-12 connector... ;o]
Here's the pinout:

and how about an rj12 to USB cable ? because the machine says it can
be USB too...
USB defines data+ and data-...is this TX and RX ??? or the other way
around ? or are the signals entirely different between RS232 and USB ?

I've never seen an rj12 to USB adapter, [doesn't mean they don't exist].
According to:
http://www.corexindo.com/products/mge/tech_desc.asp
The unit has a serial *or* USB port, so I assume the USB version uses a
standard USB cable.
