Hello to everyone,
After browsing for answers to some of my own questions i
noted somethings in common about others and those trying
to update their systems to SP4 or even full installs.
Somethings that people should conseder is to shut the
system down and remove things like their Network cards,
ie1394 cards, SCSI controllers, and Cheepo modems etc. if
the system doesnt need them to run. Doing the update or
install (sometimes its better to do them off line) and
then adding the hardware back in (with the computer off of
corse) and in most cases you will not have the failures
and messed up settings that some of you are experiencing.
I'm sure there are other many many things people should be
doing in prep not to mention, DONT FORGET YOUR BACKUP
PLAN!
Mine? I clone my drive before i start and then remove
unneccsary hardware, reboot and away i go.
If you cant afford to lose it dont try to use it.
Just a thought.....
Good day~
