Metal Gear Solid won't run on my notebook

I tried different combatibilities for the game, but the
only one that I get any progress on is windows 2000.
Instead of it sending the usual error report to
microsoft, it tells me I need to switch to software mode
or something. Are there any updates to run this game on
windows XP? or is it just that im running it on my
notebook?

As well as Chris's suggestion, bear in mind that notebooks are not designed
for games and often don't have the graphics capabilities required, so even
if you do get it running, you probably won't have a very good gaming
experience... Best to leave notebooks for their intended purpose of running
application software and use a desktop for the more meaty requirements of
gaming...
