I am trying to add Meta Tags to a new site. The option is greyed out and I
can not add the information. How do I add the information?

Right clicking on the page | Page Options gives you the screen to put in
certain meta tags.

I know, but it's not called Meta Tags.

I don't believe there's a Meta Tags menu item in FrontPage - what exactly
are you doing?

I find it on the Page Properties, but only from index.htm
Oh, and they're called 'keywords'. But it works. :)

I believe it's called Page properties > Custom.
Click Add, enter the meta tag in Name: and what you want in Value:

Keywords is only one of many meta tags.

I am trying to list site description and key words to enhance inclusion in
search engines. I tried right clicking on the page and chose page properties,
the screen came up but would not allow any entries. I tried going through the
File menu, Properties,Custom tab--got the Properties Dialog Box but could not
enter any information.--I am using FP 2003.

Key word meta tags don't enhance your inclusion in search engines. You can
ignore them safely.

Are you using a Dynamic web Template on that page?
If so, in the DWT, add the description and keywords meta tags to same
editable region as the <title>..</title> tag, and update all pages.
These tags will then be editable on the pages.

Like this in the DWT in the HEAD section. This way you can edit the
description of each page individually, or it will just use the default -
whatever you put in the DWT:

<!-- #BeginEditable "description" -->
<meta name="description" content="Put Description of each page here" />
<!-- #EndEditable -->
