Hi everyone

Please could someone confirm that if I copy everything but the last
paragraph marker for an existing document and paste it into a new
document, that the meta data is excluded in the new document? Does meta
data include track change information?

Basically the original document had track changes in it, and I want to
create a new document for another job from it, but want to make sure
that the track changes dont follow across to the new document. I hope
this makes sense.

Your help would be really appreciated.

Hi Jane

If you copy the content of the document into a new 'shell', the document
properties will be those of the target not the source document. That means
author, company and so on will be as they are in the new document. The new
document will also be free of 'historical' information held in the file to
support Versions or Fast Saves.

Other 'hidden' data may transfer with the content. Hidden text, comments and
hyperlink pathnames will always transfer. Tracked changes will transfer if
tracking is set 'Off'.

But to cover the specific point, all you need to do to get rid of tracked
changes is to 'Accept' all changes in the document.
