Ok, I have read through here about being automatically
logged onto windows messenger when you get online. I have
no icons, no indications of me being logged into it. I
just start getting messages. And when i log into my msn
messenger, i get the same thing everyone else is getting,
you have been logged out of another comp. ok, now ive done
what you said,about disabling the start up and whatnot.
the same thing is still happening. What the heck is the
deal? I am running windows xp pro and this has never
happened to me b4 until like a week ago.. please find this
matter and dont repeat to me what you keep repeating to
the others. im not having the same problem or it would
have fixed it when i disabled it to not start up and log
me in. thanx
 
I've had the exact same problem. After much
troubleshooting and heartache, the only solution I could
find was to remove Windows Messenger and only use MSN
Messenger. This command was used to remove it:
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%
\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
Type that in the run window. It's Windows messenger that
is logging you on in the background. Nothing I did would
stop it from logging me on. I can certainly understand
your frustration since I went through this for months.

Make sure that command is all one line with a space after
rundll32 and launchinfsection
