I DL msn messenger 6.0 to my HD and it worke well from
there.
When i use the messenger from the 6.0 browser icon i get
only verson 4.7???????? not 6.0

How can i get the browser icon to load the 6.0 version
 
Hi,

Sorry to tell you that, but it's impossible. The Messenger icon in the
Internet Explorer toolbar only launches Windows Messenger, not MSN Messenger
(Not just the toolbar button, but the option in the Go menu too.). This is
because Windows Messenger is much more integrated with Windows XP.
