Our WM5 deployment went fairly well. We used SMS to deliver the client
(build 5.0.0381) to about 3000 PCs. A few hundred of these PCs received the
client delivery, but did not install it. It appears that these PCs already
have a version of Messenger that is preventing WM5 from installing.
I had our SMS people produce a report of MSMSGS.EXE versions found on these
offending PCs. I now need to sift through these versions to find out what
client these PCs have installed (MSN Messenger or Windows Messenger) and
whether these versions have Exchange IM support.
Is there a comprehensive list of Messenger version numbers available
anywhere--for me to reconcile this information?
