messenger service pop-ups

I've never had a problem with this until I got
2000professional installed, along with a Verizon with MSN8
as my internet connection.

Unless I can disable this annoying pop-up, which sometimes
knocks me off the window I view, I am going back to
Windows98 and will change ISP.

HELP!!

Not really an OS or ISP issue, it simply indicates you're not using adequate
firewall protection or it's configured incorrectly.

This is easy to correct. Right click on My Computer, go to
manage, go to services and applications, open services,
find messenger. Double click on messenger and disable the
start up option or change it to manual.
