Messenger Reinstallig

Hi all

I am a new XP user........ as of yesterday!! I have noticed that every now
and again when I start up Messenger asks me to install a new version when
the version I have is the same.

What can I do to ensure I install the correct version and not be troubled by
this again?

Is this Messenger 5.0? I had a similar problem. I had to reinstall 4.7 then
5.0 on top of it to make it stop.
 
No This is messenger 6.1

Greetings Dinger,

I see in the other reply to you you're mentioning MSN Messenger 6.1. Yes, there is currently
a forced upgrade to the latest MSN Messenger 6.1 version, and as such, you'll just need to
click 'Yes' to upgrade to the latest version. Alternatively, you can install from here:
http://messenger.msn.com/Download

However, there is no guarantee how long this version will "last", as Messenger versions come
out on a regular basis (although they're not usually forced, as this latest one is).
