messenger plus spyware

ok...I didn't pay attention to the install. Am now looking for advice
on getting rid of annoying ads which appear as instances of IE. They
do not appear as pop-ups but as tasks on my task bar - typically with
no title.

I've removed messenger plus, run SpyBot search and destroy and AdAware
but it hasn't resolved the problem.

Looks like I have it sorted. I hadn't updated AdAware for some time.
It appears to have cleaned up the mess.
