Norton wont answer me. In I turn off Messenger for a few
days (to stop popups) and then turn it on , will previous
data/messages be waiting or will I have lost anything
that (Norton) has been sent? Greg

Hi Greg

I am not clear about what you are asking, witch Norton? Norton antivirus or
Norton system works also witch messenger? Windows messenger or MSN messenger

If you close Windows messenger or MSN messenger you will not be able receive
instant messages as you will be off-line, email will still work and should
be there when you log back on. Do these "pop-ups" that are appearing have
Messenger Service" in their title bar if so To stop popup adds go to the
Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services, scroll down to messenger, and
double click it, and where it says startup type automatic change to
disabled, and then choose the 'Stop' button, after the service is stopped,
click OK, this will not affect Windows messenger or MSN messenger
