Can someone tell me how to stop Messenger from starting up EVERY SINGLE TIME
I get online? I've already gone into tools/options/preferences and made sure
that none of the boxes are checked. I've restarted my computer. I've even
tried deleting it from my system using the add/delete Windows programs option
and nothing works!!!!!! Please someone help... it's really aggravating.

I'm with ya on this one. There is apparently an embedded older version of
MSN Messenger that doesn't show up in the add/remove programs dialog. Even
if you stop MSN 7 from starting - the other one signs on. It's a pain.

The mirror tells me lies
Could I mistake myself for someone
Who lives behind my eyes
Will he escape my soul
Or will he live in me
Is he tryin' to get out or tryin' to enter me

Greetings Michelle,

If you really want to completely disable Windows Messenger, you can simply uninstall it but
by doing so, Application Sharing, Whiteboard and Remote Assistance (within MSN Messenger)
will no longer function.

If this is fine with you, just remove Windows Messenger again by closing down Messenger if
it's running (right click the messenger icon in the notification area/system tray and click
close). Then click the start button, then click Run and type in (copy-paste if you like):
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

Then click OK.
Messenger will then be uninstalled. For more detailed instructions and screenshots, go to,
