Messenger keeps re-installing itself

HEELLLLPPPP!!!!!
My MSN Messenger keeps re-installing when i run the icon,
and when i shut down, PC tells me 'a new version of
windows messenger is available'. I download and install
this, but when the PC is reset, both programs are not
there, also in the two directories, there is a 0 byte
file, called 'MESSENGER SUCKS GET IRC', it also appears
in other dir's too, can anyone help me to fix this?? is
it a virus or spyware stuff, scans for both have come up
